Translation of:
Doctor Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran
Blessed is He in Whose Hands is the Kingdom, and He is mighty to do all things.
Tabārakal-lażī biyadihil-mulk (u), wa é 'alā kulli syai'in qadīr (un).
Blessed be He in Whose hands is all authority. And He is the most capable of all.
He who created life and death to prove to you who among you is truly the best, and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving.
Allażī is the Creator of the wal-ḥayāta universe and He is the source of all goodness.
"He is the One" who created life and death to test which of you is the best in your works. And He is the Almighty, who forgives all.
The one who created the seven heavens one by one. What you see in the creation of the Most Merciful will be lost, so change your vision. you see breakfast
Allah is the Creator of the heavens, my tarā fī khalqir-raḥmāni min tafāwut(in), farji'il-baṣara hal tarā min fuṭūr(in).
"He is the One" who created seven heavens, one above the other. You will never see any imperfection in the creation of the Merciful. Then look again: Do you see any flaws?
So return my vision twice and your vision will return to you with despair and sadness.
Ṡummarji'il-baṣara is a characteristic of the khasi'aw of ilaikal-baṣaru.
So keep looking, your look will return frustrated and tired.
We certainly adorned the nether heavens with lamps and stoned them for the demons and prepared for them the punishment of the fiery flame.
Wa laqad zayyannas-samā'ad-dun-yā bimaṣābīḥa wa ja'alnāhā rujūmal lisy-syayāṭīni wa a'tadnā lahum 'ażābas-sa'īr (i).
And verily We adorned the lower heaven with lamps "like stars," and made them "like projectiles" to stone "hearing demons," for whom we also prepared the torment of fire.
And for those who do not believe in their Lord, it is the punishment of hell, and miserable is fate.
Wa lil-lażīna kafarū birabbihim 'ażābu jahannam (a), wa bi'sal-maṣīr (u).
Those who do not believe in their Lord will suffer the punishment of hell. What a bad fate!
When tossed, you'll hear her inhale as she bubbles.
Iżā ulquū fīhā sami'ū lahā syahīqaw wa hiya tafūr (u).
If they are thrown, they will hear its roar as it overflows,
He almost acknowledges in anger every time a regiment is released to whoever asks for it.
Takādu tamayyazu minal-gaiẓ(i), kullamā ulqiya fīhā faujun sa'alahum khazanatuhā alam ya'tikum nażīr(un).
almost bursting with anger. Every time a group is released, their guards ask them: "Has not a warner come for you?"
They said, "Yes, a Warner has come to us." But we denied it and said: 'Allah has not sent anything.
Qālū balā qad jā'anā nażīr(un), fa kajzabnā wa qulnā mā nazzalallāhu min syai'(in), in antum illā fī ḍalālin kabīr(in).
They will reply: "Yes, a warner came to us, but we denied it and said: 'Allah has not revealed anything. You are extremely deviant.'"
And they said, "If we'd been listening or arguing, we wouldn't have been friends with Blaze."
Wa qālū lau kunnā nasma'u au na'qilu mā kunnā fī aṣḥābis-sa'īr(i).
And they will complain: "If we had listened and argued, we would not be among the residents of Blaze!"
Then they confessed their sin, what a shame the one at the stake!
Fa'tarafū bizambihim, fasuḥqal li'aṣḥābis-sa'īr(s).
And so they will confess their sins. Away with the inhabitants of Blaze!
Those who fear their invisible Lord will have pardon and great reward.
Innal-lażīna yakhsyauna rabbahum bil-gaibi lahum magfiratuw wa ajrun kabīr (un).
Truly, those who fear their Lord without seeing him will have forgiveness and a great reward.
Hide your speech or speak out loud, verily He is Omniscient.
Wa asirrū qaulakum awijharū bih(ī), innahū ‘alīmum biżātiṣ-ṣudūr(i).
Whether you speak in secret or openly, He surely knows best what is "hidden" in the heart.
He who created it does not know, and He is the subtle, the conscious ࣖ
Alā ya'lamu man khalaq (a), wa huwal-laṭīful-khabīr (u).
How could He not know His own creation? Because He "only" is the most subtle, the one who knows everything.
He is the one who has subjected the earth to you, so wander among its slopes and eat of his provision. His is the resurrection.
Huwal-lażī ja'ala lakumul-arḍa żalūlan famsyū fī manākibihā wa kulū mir rizqih(ī), wa ilaihin-nusyūr(u).
He is the one who leveled the land for you, so move to his regions and eat from His provisions. And His is the resurrection of "all".
Have you ever believed in heaven that the earth will swallow you?
A'amintum man fis-samā'i ay yakhsifa bikumul-arḍa fa'iżā hiya tamūr(u).
Are you sure that he who is in heaven will not devour you with a violent shaking of the earth?
Or have you believed in heaven that He will send you a calculator so that you know what a cashier is like?
Bin amintum man fis-samā'i ay yursila 'alaikum ḥāṣibā(n), fa sata'lamūna kaifa nażīr(i).
Or are you sure that he who is in heaven will not rain hail on you? Only then would you know how "serious" my warning was!
And those before them had denied them, so how did he blame them?
Wa laqad każzabal-lażīna min qablihim faikaifa sein nakīr (i).
And surely those who preceded them "also" denied, so how severe was My answer!
They have not seen the birds in rows on high, and no one supports them but the Merciful, He is the Seer of all things.
Awalam yarau ilaṭ-ṭairi fauqahum ṣāffātiw wa yaqbiḍn(a), will be described with illar-raḥmān(u), innahū bikulli syai'im baṣīr(a).
Did you not see the birds overhead, unfolding and folding their wings? No one supports them except the most compassionate. In fact, He is all-knowing.
Is he who is a soldier to you, who will help you beyond the merciful? In fact, the disbelievers are only deceived.
Am man hāżal-lażī ist jundul lakum yanṣurukum min dūnir-raḥmān(i), inil-kāfirūna illā fī gurūr(in).
Moreover, what "powerless" force will come to your aid instead of the All-Merciful? In fact, the disbelievers are "lost" only in illusion.
Is it He who provides you, who withholds His provision?
Am man hāżal-lażī yarzuqukum in amsaka rizqah(ū), bal lajjū fī 'utuwwiw wa nufūr(in).
Or who will take care of you if he withholds his care? In fact, they remain in arrogance and aversion to the "truth".
When someone walks straight ahead on a straight path
Afamay yamsyī mukibban ‘alā wajhihī ahdā ammay yamsyī sawiyyan ‘alā ṣirāṭim mustaqīm(in).
Who is "well" guided: the one who crawls upside down, or the one who walks upright on the straight path?
Say: "He it is who created you and gave you hearing, sight and understanding." Little is that for which you give thanks.
Qul huwal-lażī ansya'akum wa ja'ala lakumus-sam'a wal-abṣāra wal-af'idah (ta), qalīlam mā tasykurūn (a).
Say: “O Prophet”, “He it is who created you and gave you hearing, sight and intellect. "However" you hardly say thank you."
Say: He it is who scattered you throughout the earth, and to him you will be gathered.
Qul huwal-lazī zara'akum fil arḍi wa ilaihi tuḥsyarūn (a).
"Also," he says, "He it is who scattered you 'all' on earth, and to Him shall 'all' be gathered."
And they say: when will this promise be, if it is true?
Wa yaqūlūna matā hāżal-wa'du in kuntum ṣādiqīn (a).
"However" they ask "believers": "If what you say is true, when will this threat come true?"
Say: "Knowledge is only in God, and I am only a clear warning."
Qul innamal-‘ilmu ‘indallāh(i), wa innamā ana nażīrum mubīn(un).
Say: "O Prophet", "This knowledge is from Allah alone, and I was sent only with a clear warning."
Then when they see it coming, the faces of the disbelievers will lower and say: This is what you prayed for before.
Falamma ra'auhu zulfatan sī'at wujūhul-lażīna kafarū wa qīla hāżal-lażī kuntum bihī tadda'ūn (a).
Then, when they see the torment coming, the faces of the disbelievers will darken, and they will be told: "This is what you said would never happen."
Say: Have you considered whether God has destroyed me and those who are with me, or whether we have mercy on them? Who will save the disbelievers from painful punishment?
Qul ara'aitum in ahlakaniyallāhu wa mam ma'iya au raḥimanā, famay yujīrul-kāfirīna min 'ażābin alīm (en).
Say: "O Prophet", "Consider this: if Allah kills me and my companions or shows us mercy, who will save the disbelievers from painful punishment?"
Say: He is the Merciful. In Him we believe and in Him we trust. Then you will know who is in obvious error.
Qul huwar-raḥmānu āmannā bihī wa 'alaihi tawakkalnā, fasata'lamūna man huwa fī ḍalālim mubīn(in).
Say: “He is the Merciful – In Him we “only” believe and “only” trust Him. Soon you will know who is clearly lost.
Say: "Have you considered that your water is weak? So who can bring you specific water?"
Qul ara'aitum in aṣbaḥa mā'ukum gauran famay ya'tīkum bimā'im ma'īn (en).
Say: "Consider, if your water sinks 'under the ground', who could bring you 'running water'?"
